PATCH NOTES v0.0.9 ā The "Late Fees & Evictions" Update
Iām officially bumping this to v0.0.9. Why? Because I essentially just rewrote the entire financial and progression sectors of the city, and increased your character slots so you can have even more alternate personalities to keep track of.
Welcome to adulthood. Your actions have consequences, the bank owns everything, and if you don't eat, you're going to shoot like a Stormtrooper. Here are the notes.
š¦ THE BANKING & ECONOMY OVERHAUL
We completely gutted the banking system and replaced it with a 2026 financial simulator. The broke boys are really going to feel this one.
- Credit Scores & Repo Men: Added overdrafts and loans tied directly to a new Credit Score system. If you sit in your overdraft too long or dodge your loan payments, your credit tanks and the state will literally seize your assets (yes, your cars and houses). Pay your debts.
- Taxes & Fees: Added transfer fees (which feed the bank's vault), and enabled auto-collection of taxes on paychecks and vehicle purchases.
- Direct Debits: Added recurring scheduled payments. It's basically the UK Direct Debit system. A full explanation is coming later, but yes, your bills will automatically leave your account.
- Savings Accounts: Added savings accounts, savings goals, and maturity tracking. You can actually build wealth now if you aren't blowing it all at the casino.
- Shop Sales Tax: Added a sales tax to all item purchases at shops. Side note: Police are exempt from this tax due to city budget handling.
- UI Redesign & The "Oops" Fix: Re-designed the banking UI so it looks better and supports all the new features. Also fixed the bug where clicking withdraw opened a completely separate window.
𧬠PROGRESSION & SURVIVAL
- The Multicharacter Glow-Up: Added a brand-new multicharacter selection screen and increased the character limit from 3 to 12.
- Reputation Actually Matters: Added backend hooks into the Reputation system. The things you do in the city will now affect your rep.
- Traits & Progression: Added a new Traits and progression system. Full write-up coming later.
- Live Event Engine: Added a live event engine to handle city-wide scenarios dynamically.
- The "Eat Your Food" Balancing: Reworked hunger and thirst so starvation causes natural debuffs: slower movement, sluggish draw speed, and poor aim.
š CITY INFRASTRUCTURE
- LSPD Relocation: Moved Police operations to the new Vespucci Police Station. A massive new MRPD is still in progress.
- Map Sweeps: Removed unoptimized maps that were tanking FPS and replaced them with better-performing options and extras.
- Business Framework: Laid the groundwork so all future player-owned businesses can function out of the box.
- The Drip: Dropped a new clothing pack: an expanded update of the existing pack with more options.
v0.0.9 is live. Go check your credit score.
